After ~11 months of Early Access, patch 140 marks the transition towards the beta phase of development!
What does it mean?
The alpha phase of development focused on the core mechanics of the game, including the ship editor, the enemy generation, the artificial intelligence systen, the physics and particle systems, the basic mission mechanics as well as a solid set of 60 different modules. Lately a lot of content regarding the exploration/story mode mechanics, which have been the last missing pieces, have been added which concludes the alpha phase.
Now that the basic mechanics are complete, I’ll focus on improving and polishing every aspect of the game. On the top of my todo list are:
- Performance/FPS (While performance is okay on most systems, the game can tend to lag when a lot of action is going on.)
- More and better sound effects.
- More story mode content (both text and artwork).
- Challenge/mission game mode.
- Streamlining of the AI modes.
- A total of 70 ship modules.
